It's been a tough germination period this spring for cucumbers. I attempted to grow cucumbers from seed 5 or more times. I lost count. At first it was a diligent process with fluffing the ground and adding compost and mulch. But after 6 weeks of trying it was just a desperate attempt to get something growing using the spilled seeds from the bottom of the box.

In addition to the usual spot against the garage wall I also planted a row of seeds in the patch of wildflowers. Just to see what happens. And then it did. Everything germinated at the same time.

Not surprisingly some of the plants are actually some form of melons. What looked like cucumber seeds at the bottom of the box turned out to be something else.
